The journey of the Optimist began in May 2004 with surprise diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma. Rounds of chemo therapy, radiation therapy, an autologous bone marrow transplant, healing touch therapy and great support from friends and family proved successful and got me back out following my passion of traveling to as many different places as possible. Three plus years of no sign of the cancer has meant some amazing trips – Peru, Norway, Africa, Antarctica, Morocco, China . . . the list goes on.
Now the myeloma is starting to make an unpleasant return and it is time to face it once again. Please join me on my ship the Optimist through this ongoing journey through life and against Multiple Myeloma.
